R&W Rope was started in 1985 as a family business and since then the business has grown to over 14,000 SKUs of rope and hardware, a full-service rigging and splicing shop, as well as a rope interior/exterior design team. 

After seeing substantial growth they needed an ERP system that could handle their unique inventory and highly custom business but also provide them granular accurate data to make fast and smart decisions.

R&W Key Pain Points Odoo Need to Solve:

  1. All invoices, packing slips, and tracking numbers were sent manually. 
  2. The inability to add sorting fields and categories to analyze their business and inventory.
  3. Their accounting program inventory valuation never matched their ERP program valuation.
  4. Shopify's high cost and limits on attributes and variants hand-cuffed their E-commerce website. 
  5. Fishbowls lack of reporting functions resulted in many manual hours of combining spread sheets
  6. Shopify and Fishbowl were not 100% compatible causing further complications and manual processes. 

By switching to Odoo’s standard modules and functionality R&W has been able to close almost all of the above gaps and more. 

R&W estimates they are saving $33,000 and $38,000 per year on their software license and platform costs, respectively. They have been able to repurpose 40-60 hours of administrative tasks into higher-value actions across business development and internal projects.

The biggest advantage of implementing Odoo was moving their ecommerce site from Shopify to the Odoo website from both a cost savings standpoint and functionality.
